AN UPRIGHT MAN

Elder Bless Donkor looks at Job 27:5,6.

In all ages God’s appointed witnesses have exposed themselves to reproach and persecution for the truth’s sake. Job was deprived of his worldly possessions and so afflicted in body that he was abhorred by his relatives and friends; yet he maintained his integrity.

Through trial and persecution the glory, the character of God is revealed in His chosen ones. The believers in Christ, hated and persecuted by the world, are educated and disciplined in the school of Christ”.

(The Acts of the Apostles, pp. 575, 576).

Is it necessary, one may ask, that everyone experience conversion? Are there not favored individuals who are naturally humble, holy and meek, who can obtain eternal life without going through the grief and sorrow of repentance?

Such was Job’s opinion. God said about him, he is “a perfect and an upright man” (Job 1:8) and Job himself declared, “…….Till I die I will not remove my integrity from me. I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go; my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live”. (Job 27:5, 6)

Are you an upright man?

Are you an upright woman?

Can the Lord testify about you as an upright man or woman?

If not, then you need to examine yourself.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleans your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded”. James 4:8.

“…….Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness and gentleness” 1 Timothy 6:11.

Remember the activities that occupied the people before the flood. They were not concerned about their own salvation or the salvation of others. The flood came and they all perished.

“For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man. (Matthew 24: 37-39.)

Are you ready for the second coming of Christ? Be an upright man henceforth.

Christ is coming again to take only the righteous people home. Get ready!
