Suhum District of the Seventh-day Adventist Church as it stands today, shares boundaries with Akuapem South Municipal Assembly, Ayensuano District, Koforidua Municipal Assembly and East Akyim Municipal Assembly. It attained a district status during its seventeen (17) years of service in 1992 with Pastor E.J. Boadi as its first district pastor. On attaining the position of a district in 1992, the numerical strength in terms membership was five hundred (500). Elder Emmanuel Asante and Elder Andrew Owusu Mensah were appointed to assist the district pastor, E.J. Boadi with the work of God as the first district elders.
The Okanta Church, Ayekotse Church, Ayebronmu Church, Omenako Church, Kukua Church and Aponoapon Church were the Churches in existence, the status of district was attained. Since that humble beginning, the district has been blessed to have several God driven pastors who served it diligently. The following table shows a list of former and current pastors of the district who have contributed substantially to the advancement of cause of Christ in their service. Since its inception as a district, it has embarked on a number of membership drives and many churches have been established as a result to facilitate rapid spread of the gospel to the hinterlands within its catchment areas.
